Harry Potter Contrast and Contradiction Signpost

While reading Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince I noticed this signpost. When Dumbledore was listing off things Sirius left Harry in his will Dumbledore tells Harry Sirius left Hume everything, including Kreacher, Buckbeak, and Number 12 Grimmauld Place. Sirius left Harry everything because Harry was Sirius’s “James” and he was the only close thing to a son or brother.

Harry Potter Poem

Because I like Harry Potter so much I thought I should share a poem. The poem is one of the Sorting Hat’s songs. he sings them every new year at Hogwarts and this one was my favorite.

You might belong in Gryffindor, where dwell the brave of heart. Their daring , nerve and chivalry set Gryffindors apart.

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you’ve a ready mind. Where those of wit and learning, will always find their kind.

You might belong in Hufflepuff, where they are just and loyal. Those patient Hufflepuffs are true and unafraid of toil.

Or perhaps in Slytherin you’ll make your friends. Those cunning folk use any means to achieve their ends.

Sometimes the Sorting Hat’s songs are different but mostly they tell the tale of the four houses and the four founders Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, Helga Hufflepuff, and Salazar Slytherin.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this poem!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Harry, Ron, and Hermione are back at it again. It’s their fourth year at Hogwarts and the first Triwizard Tournament there has been in a while. Foreign wizarding schools, Beauxbaton and Durmstrang, travel to Hogwarts to compete in the tournament. The Goblet of Fire picks one champion from each school, but for some reason it picks four. To everyone’s surprise Harry’s name comes out of the Goblet. Join Harry as he faces all three tasks, and asking someone to the Yule Ball. Will he survive this year at Hogwarts and young love? Read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to find out!

Contrast and Contradiction Signpost

While reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire i noticed this signpost. The Weasley’s invited Harry to the Quidditch World Cup but Uncle Vernon is being skeptical on whether he should or should not send him. He was thinking this until Harry mentioned his Godfather Sirius Black. Well, Sirius is a murderer according to Vernon so he is afraid of him. He is also afraid of him because all Harry has to do is write him a note about them not treating him right. In the end Uncle Vernon lets Harry go to the World Cup. Vernon was acting that way because he was so scared of Sirius.

Aha Moment Signpost

While reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire I noticed this signpost. Harry awoke from a dream with his scar hurting and it worried him because in the past whenever his scar hurt that meant Voldemort was near. He didn’t know who to talk about it to until he realized he could write to Sirius, Harry’s Godfather. This realization could change things because Sirius could give him answers he’s been wanting about why his scar was hurting.

Poetry Quote

After reading this quote I felt confused and sad. I felt confused because I don’t really understand what the person was talking about. I felt sad because the quote held a lot of emotion. I do not like this poem. I do not like this poem because, again, it is confusing. Also because this is not the style of poems I like. I like short, simple, and rhyming poems. So, in conclusion I did not like this poem and that it held a lot of emotions.

Friendship

This is one of my favorite poems about friendship.

If I could take all your troubles I would toss them into the sea

But all these things I’m finding are impossible for me

I cannot build a mountain or catch a rainbow fair

But let me be what I know best, a friend that is always there

A Picture Is Worth a Thousand words

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words means that pictures can contain a lot of details. If a scene in a book doesn’t contain much describing words or details, you can draw a picture and create so much more. An example is a movie that is based on the book, like The Hunger Games or Divergent. When you read the books after you have seen the movies you notice a lot of details the movies added.

What Is Positive and Negative Word Power?

Word power is power in the form of words. It can be positive, negative, or both. Positive word power is positive words, and negative word power is negative words. A form of positive word power is speeches. In Martin Luther King Junior’s “I Have A Dream” speech he positively got the word out. A form of negative word power is a cyber-bully. They go online and they say bad words about you trying to bring you down. A form of both positive and negative word power is protests. Protests can go either way. Positive protests are people protesting with no harm like Rosa Parks and the bus boycotts. Negative protests are people protesting with harm like destroying things, an example is burning the American flag. In conclusion word power is power in the form of words and it can be positive and negative.

What is Power?

Power can be multiple things. It can be the President (or a queen, or a dictator), natural disasters, man made disasters, electricity, blackmail, or electronic devices. The President (or others) has power over the country. Natural disasters such as earthquakes or cyclones with great power can cause lots of destruction. Man made disasters such as bombings can also cause great destruction. Electricity powers objects. Blackmail is having power over someone. Finally electronic devices have a power button. For a more technical explanation, power is the ability to cause or prevent an object. In conclusion Power can be multiple things like leadership or electricity.
